Your headphones arrive in the notch, in 3D.
When you connect AirPods, Beats, a Magic Mouse or a controller, its 3D model appears on the left, swaying gently, and a ring with the charge on the right. No text: just the two sides.

How it works
- Not only AirPods
- AirPods Pro, AirPods 4 and AirPods Max, Beats headphones, Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and PlayStation and Xbox controllers. Other devices show their symbol.
- The charge, at a glance
- The ring is green and turns red under 20%. With earbuds the lower one counts.
- Right away
- It shows as soon as macOS reports the battery, usually in half a second, and goes away by itself.
- For the Mac too
- The same gesture for the Mac’s battery: a short alert when you plug in, when it is low or when it is full.
Next feature
Even where there is no notch.
