Messages arrive where you are already looking.

Notifications show up in the notch with the app icon. Reply to Messages without leaving what you are doing.

Try it. Open the first message and tap Reply: you can really type.

    How it works

    Every app with banners
Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Mail and any app that shows notifications. The system banner moves off screen: you see each notification once.
    Quick reply
With Messages (iMessage and SMS) tap the notification and type right away. Long text wraps, and your draft stays if another message arrives. For other apps a click opens the right conversation.
    The last twenty
A scrolling list, like Notification Center: tap a notification to read it all.
